>Watch the 7 seasons of Trailer Park Boys
>Genius show, didnt laugh like that since long time ago
>Netflix produce season 8 & 9 couple of years later
>ohgodpleaseno.jpg
>Watch the 1st and 2nd episode of the 8th season
>They completely ruined the show.
Fuck this shit. Do I need to watch more episodes or this show is now complete garbage ?
The problem with rebooting a series like this is that, even if you get the actors back, the writing team isn't going to be the same. Writers are 90% of what makes any show great.
same thing happened to arrested development imo
They should have never made bubbles a main character.
The show is a shadow of its former self now. Since the cast took over, the show is only superficially the same with the humour being catered toward the lowest common denominator (420 blaze it). Gone are the days of Bubbles referencing Plato; he references the A-team.
haven't watched the NF seasons, but I quickly learned to treat the movies as non-canon spin-offs as opposed to continuations of the series. that way I could still enjoy them for what they were
have only heard whispers of the plotlines from the s8/9 and they don't sound good. even the main plotlines from 6/7 were mostly stupid/unfunny in hindsight

naah, you are better off watching the Christmas special, Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys and perhaps the two first movies.
Then rewatch the first 7 seasons. Funniest show I've ever seen
Trailer Park Boys had already started to slip by season 6 and was complete garbage by season 7
>>64631881
Trailer Park Boys has always had the same writers. It's written by Mike Clattenburg, Mike Smith, John Paul Tremblay and a few others, who I think all returned for the new season. All Netflix did was give them funding.
>>64631760
I thought 8 wasn't too bad, 9 was fucking awful though.
>>64631929
Agree. The decline started when Jim Lahey quit drinking.
>>64631760
Season 8 is terrible, they need clattenburg back. Have you seen say goodnight to the bad guys? Probably the best special
>>64631760
>mfw watching season 8 for the first time
Season 8 was garbage, season 9 had some amusing high points. Honestly I'd say plow through the rest of them for context, and only go back to the ones you really liked from those two seasons when you rewatch the series later.
I will say this though, they're significantly improved when you're drunk and on drugs.
>>64631951
Clattenburg was not involved in season 8 and 9
>>64632006
Nope, Thanks I'm gonna try it
It's the same people that made the show before dumbass.
They just aren't funny anymore or don't have the writers that they used to.
>>64631760
Those three buying up the TPB's rights and whoring it out to Netflix was the worst thing that could have happened.
Now they want to put out a single mediocre season and like a half dozen trash specials a year.
2>3>4=5>1>6>8>7>9
>>64632191
I'm not saying this is different people asshat.
I just smelled the "oh fack guys look at the NF check...lets try to find something".
NETFLIX'S shitpuppets
As "bad "as the newer seasons are, they're still better than 90% of shit on TV.
I'll take bad TPB over "good' BBT or any other TV comedy.

Totally
You're on a shit boat heading towards a shit typhoon
favourite scenes go!

I completely agree with you, without Clattenburg, the boys are clueless as to what made the show brilliant in the first place.
But in fairness, Bubbles only referenced Plato once ever.

Season 4 was the best but i do think the show has improved over time. Specially the latest season was genius and made me actually care for Jullian for once.
>>64633284
John Dunsworth is a genuinely good actor.
>>64633707
He's great.
Must be in fierce good shape for a sixty something year old too considering all the drunken falling he's done on the show.

2>5>1>4>3>6>7>8>9
Honestly this is the most comfy show i have ever seen. Even though they shoot and do insane things its still somehow remains comfy.
>>64633839
the newer seasons lost that feel for me, the park feels less like a home filled with friends and family and more like they are all just slaves for old people
>>64633795
he doesnt drink either, and also is a master craftsman
>>64631921
This. What the fuck we're they even thinking?
low budget canadian shows are the best
they feel so fucking foreign tho even tho canada is just right up there
i should go to canada more often
>>64631760
Anyone ever try out the Drunk and On Drugs Happy Time or whatever?
I was hopeful because IIRC that was still a time when TPB was decent, but I found it pretty unbearable.
had a couple of drinks
saw a couple of things
>>64633239
cocksucker called it the noble lie
>>64634218
don't
it's aweful
>>64633819
Pretty accurate.
>>64631921
>>64634084
The actor who plays him became one of the writers
>>64632128
And holy shit can you tell. The Rickyisms being every sentence is proof of that.
