I hadn't watched Licence to Kill for a while, and going back to it was amazed how much it felt like the Craig movies. Just with a better Bond.
In retrospect it amazes me how much hate it (and Dalton in general) get for being "not like Bond" only now all those same people embrace Craig, who's got all the charm of a fucking pet rock.

The World is Not Enough is another jewel in Brosnan's crown. Another fantastic Bond movie brought into the 21st century.
Tomorrow Never Dies is pretty average and Die Another Day is just plain bad, even Rosamund Pike couldn't save it.

Bond is operating at his all time high max power level. He was too new in Casino and they gimped him in Skyfall....Quantum Bond would have taken Bautista no problem.
Also there a ton of smaller details that are easy to overlook the first time around.

Thunderball has the most baroque depiction of Britain in any Bond movie. It is an Imperial relic of course, but one with ambition, class, and claws.
