Do you like this movie? Why or why not?
>>
Of course I do because I'm not a faggot
>>
>>64585081
Good answer.
>>
>There will never be another action movie as fucking insane and over the top as Mission Impossible 2
>>
>>64585059
It does not challenge my world view and does not raise any interesting philosophical questions.
>>
>>64585342

That's what I read books for.

What do you watch films for?

It always pissed people off that the hero from the old TV show was the villain in the movie. I thought it was a neat twist.
>>
>>64585393

Sensory euphoria.
>>

i loved that shit, love anything that pisses off dumb fanboys

I enjoy all of the M:I movies. I appreciate that Cruise has used the series to bring in a variety of writers and directors to make solid action movies with different tones and styles. As much as I liked McQuarrie on the most recent, it's a little disappointing that he's going to do the next instead of someone new again.
>>
>>64585435
Why did he betray the team? That shit sort of came of nowhere.
>>
I could never take Tom Cruise seriously as an action star. He always looks wrong beating guys up and running away from explosions to me.
>>
>>64585498
is there better choice though?
>>
Le reveal twist too early movie?

I like it?
>>
>>64585707
he runs from gay thoughts much more convincingly, agreed.
>>
>>64585745
Joe Carnahan, was supposed to do MI3
>>
>>64585498
I honestly dislike McQuarrie as a director. Jack Reacher was forgettable and MI:5 is just "hey guys, we need to include a strunk wimmin in this movie, and random diversity!"
>>
>>64585059
Didn't age well, still pretty good family
>>
>>64586079
disagreed.

Robert Town wrote the damn screenplay, and just because you think its old fashioned doesn't mean the style of screenwriting wasn't clever.

It feels like an old fashioned 70's thriller, and none of the sequels feel the same way. In my view the Mission Impossible tv show wa best represented by the first film. It's similar to how new Star Trek totally ass fucked the pacing and writing style of the tv show.

Robert Towne
>>
who exactly would dare say he disliked MI?
>>
I love it.

I think it has some tone issues but it doesnt bother me much. I love all the individual scenes, and particuarly the whole time they are in Prague. Lots of great action and a good cast. Rhames and Reno are awesome.

And whatever you think of Cruise nowadays, he was in his fucking prime in 1996.

fun action schlock.
faithful depiction of the early internet.
uses concepts later used by many other films and tv to the point that it became cliche.
spawned a somewhat palpable action schlock trilogy.

Yeah, it's ok.

>>64586560
he never left his prime desu he's in overprime right now
>>
Yes, it's a lot of fun.

I like all the MIs except the third

Shouldn't have married him if they're just going to handwave the wife away in Ghost Protocol
>>
RN was bit disappointing but I'm glad they're making another

Pure greed, if I remember correctly.

Best Mission Impossible movie. Brian De Palma used to be someone, a contender even
>>
>>64585059
Of course it's good
>>
>>64585865
I think he's a solid director. Jack Reacher was forgettable, but I think was due to the script, not the direction. Watch Way of the Gun.
>>
>>64585865
> muh strong womyn and diversity trigger

Was that literally all you took from the fucking movie?
>>
MI > GP > MI:3 > MI:2 > RN

2 is kind of hard to rate since it's so fun but it's also the one that feels most out of place in the series. Undisputed best American spy series. Sorry Bourne, get some rest.
>>
>>64585059
one of my favourite movies of all time. i have seen it like 100 times and still dont know wtf is going on.

ghot protocol and rogue nation were amazing too, although a lot different.
