There are times in the movie in which Rey represents the metaphoric interaction of two characters. Han saw Finn as his long lost son, Kylo and hence his force wanted to reach out and hug him. Similarly, when Finn is battling Kylo Ren, Rey both represents Finn's force sensitivity when she takes over in the fight and Kylo's battle between light and dark while Finn is still conscious
