Where do I start with Luis Bunuel films?
I've seen Un Chien Andalou but that's it. I'd like to see other feature films of his.
I have some beer to help me sit through.
I just started watching Bunuel last night with Beauty of the Day and don't regret it.

something light like the discreet charm of the bourgeoisie or something heavy like Belle Du Jour. those are probably his least complex films
Can you guys tell me what appeal do you find in his films?
They don't make much sense and are pretty hard to watch.
I'm not saying anything bad with that, opposite actually, I would like to hear what you like about it that could possibly change the way I can seen his films.

Bunuel films are fun even without beer, you should watch either Simon or The Exterminating Angel next. Discreet Charm might go over your head a few places on your first watch but all of his films have rewatch ability.

i think the absurdism in some of his films is funny. They can be quite transgressive especially compared with the stuff of the times they were made. but i'd say that since they don't take themselves too seriously its easy to have a laugh while enjoying something cerebral and erotic

You can start with any of those it depends on what you want to see, most early mexican Buñuel films are pretty average I guess you can start with the second european period
