Haven't seen yet, but I've read the book and the casting couldn't be better
Really meh. The score, cinematography and acting are decent, and there were a few scenes that really worked, but that's all that can be said.

I saw it with a friend and his gf and I don't know either of them well. Surprisingly it was still a great experience. The sex scenes were a little awkward though.

Anyway, I loved it. The cinematography, score and acting were brilliant; Blanchett is surely one of the best actors alive although Rooney was also great. The ending was also fantastic; all the more emotional for how downplayed it was

i liked this movie a lot but i did not like the score. it kind of distracted me from what the characters were doing/feeling in parts.

I actually thought the score was one of my favourite aspects of the movie, it was pretty pervasive though so if you didn't like the music I could see how it could be distracting.

I think Haynes is one of the 3 or 4 best directors in America currently and every single thing he's made is amazing. If you haven't seen I'm Not There and Far From Heaven prepare yourself for those too.
But yeah, Mildred Pierce is great and the book it's based on is too.

really really loved it. was surprised actually, going into it i was expecting nothing, maybe even to not like it but i was floored. i've since seen it three times, gets better every time.
