Only God Forgives was horrible. Adding Freudian themes to a work doesn't make it more profound. It has to say something about it. It displays something but never says anything about it.

God being a byproduct of our collective need for a paternal figure has always been a central idea of psychoanalytics. I hate how people treat OGF as profound when it's just rehashing someone elses ideas.
