It's generic fantasy setting 500, which is great if you're trying to make a game with an uncomplicated setting that can entice everyone to jump in to play, but as a movie setting, it comes off as vanilla, uninspired, and not compelling in the slightest. For any videogame movie to succeed today it is going to have to do it strictly on the quality of the film and critical success alone.
Brand recognition by gamers will not help it AT ALL at the box office.
It might help the movie get made but it won't help it succeed. Besides, most gamers are entitled freeloading pirates that will just torrent the movie anyway if they want to see it.

It all comes down to marketing I think, there's an opening in the yearly fantasy movies at the moment, they might be able to continue from where the hobbit left off, although since those movies were generally not liked we'll see.

All of the clans were supposed to be green. Only mag'har orcs who stayed behind in outland were brown. Orcs in warcraft lore were supposed to be naturally brutal and violent, and there was infighting between them. Thrall was the exception because of his upbringing and medivh's intervention.
