The movie is not even good. They set up Leo as the ultimate Oscar bait american badass survivor so hard its almost criminal. Its like you can see producers and Leo rubbing hands talking about earning awards.
But Leo's performance is so terrible he is overshadowed by the campy and almost cartoon villain of John Fitzgerald and his pelts.
They want you to hate Tom Hardy but you end rooting for him since he is the only decent character in the movie. Actually scratch decent, he is the only character in the movie with motivations other than just advancing the plot.
I would gladly pay for a full movie of Fitzgerald's dirty shenanigans, exploits and lies. But Leo grunting for 2 hours? Fuck no.
