Every episode in series 6 is a 10/10. Saying that, I love Dimension Jump from series 4. Every episode in S4 is a 10/10 too.
Red Dwarf has actually spoiled me for any other sitcom. I just can't get into sitcoms where the characters actually like each other or consider each other friends.
In Red Dwarf all the characters at their best, tolerate one another mainly because Rimmer draws all their ire. Sitcoms do it more nowadays I think, but I feel like Red Dwarf's a pretty early example of this.
Like, I don't ever remember an episode of Red Dwarf where they all sit down and talk about how they actually do care for one another, it's all pretty much one big marriage of convenience.

One thing I noticed is that series 7 really laid on "the feels" very quickly, with Kryten feeling left out and his brother turning up, Rimmer leaving and Kochanski appearing.
Obviously it wasn't going to be the same when literally half of your writing staff leave, but I think 7 and 8 as well as the newer series were worthy additions to the show
