Payday 2 was good for a while when they kept it fairly consistent with the Heat aesthetic

Then they went full retard with the DLC, fuck I hate that shit.

Heat wasn't all good but it had the best intertwining atmosphere and archs and themes by the best actors.

AL Capacino: I gotta take my wife's kid to school, modern marriage, amirite?

AL Capacino: Please stop fucking my wife, I'm taking my tv.

Was Mann a cuckold twice as nice? or were these just excuses for Al Capacino to expose his acting talents?

RocknRolla is of a higher class.

He shouldn't have gone to the hotel to kill Waingro. He disobeyed his own rule by doing that.

I actually liked that bit. It felt cemented in the chance nature of reality. DeNiros character has his entire future changed by something as entirely unforeseeable and minuscule as where he parked. All the best laid plans of mice and men as it were.

It was the superficial reason for the plot points and the movie, it was like Mann was trying to prove that he was still hip and that he can still kick with his Protégé Nolan, that is just tiring for anyone who knows tech and movies inside out.

what

>>64508111
the tech stuff is a bit superficial. the movie feels to me like it's structured out of a million different tiny details surrounding the characters that make up their relationships and shade their interactions, all while pushing forward the plot. it's a pretty masterful demonstration of Mann's ability to develop characters through their actions without actively talking about it or making it the centerpoint of the film. plus, i found it absolutely gorgeous; i love the digital cinematography and his framing is fucking impeccable

>>
>>64508382
The framing was just a ploy to suprise you with the car exploding scene. The cinematography was just a rehashing of Collateral. I didn't see any character traits and everyone's hair was terrible except for Southern Drawl Thor.
>>
>>64508510
Not much does when you're a woman.
>>
>>64504146

The International
>>
>>64508520
The framing, for the entire movie, was a ploy to surprise you in one scene? That's an insipid idea, anon. As for the other stuff, I felt a similar way after my first viewing, but I was compelled to rewatch it by a friend, and I've seen it four or five times since then. Every time it becomes easier for me to be drawn into the world these characters live in, and for the most part, they're surprisingly complex. I recommend revising it.

The Departed is a far superior film and both of you contrarian faggots know it.
>>
>>64508647
I'll wait for that friend of mine to compel me, and yes I'm serious with the framing bait he pulled. But as an Australian Surfer/Tech guru myself I can say that the character Thor played was just the average Australian stoical surfer, there is nothing special or unique about them even though they desperately maintain that there is. And everyone else was stereotypical, I don't mind if people like em but it was NCIS tier acting.

It's just a chick flick babe, you must of agreed with my hair comment so you know I got taste.

Not trolling, but I honestly don't get why heat is praised so much.

There are one or two pieces of great dialogue, and the action scenes are really well done. But most of the movie is De Niro drinking wine and flirting with some old bag, it's tedious and corny.

Collateral is the better movie
