They didn't use any of it in Steven's trial, as it was such obvious garbage that contradicts the little physical evidence that it would have torpedoed their case against Steven.

>>64502100
Well, they may not be "genuine" but the police used tactics that were legal, if scummy and a bit dishonest (yes, police are allowed to lie to to you) I assume his mother gave his consent to be questioned, because otherwise they would be thrown out. She didn't seem to bright either so probably didn't realize that you never , ever, answer cops questions without a lawyer. Brendan himself certainly didn't know you are not obliged to incriminate yourself, and he was read his Miranda rights but probably just said he understands them when he didn't. Regardless of the tactics the cops used however, it meets legal criteria to be admitted.

>plus someone broken into his evidence file and taken blood
Never happened. The reason you never heard about that again after the initial discovery is because the lawyers are retards when it comes to blood sampling. That was a vacuutube used for blood sampling, literally the ONLY way to get the blood into there is to pierce the top and let the vacuum within the bottle draw in the blood sample.

The hole on top is just inherent from filling the vial to begin with. Multiple pierces would indicate withdrawl. A single one is just how it was filled.

Also what the fuck is up with Murican courts? Do they seriously not have any processes for

(a) determining whether a defendant is capable of understanding their convictions and the court process

(b) determining whether a defendant is suitable for detention in mental health facilities

He was clearly not fit for trial due to intellectual disability

Those were probably the two of three jurors that were adamant he was guilty from the start. Not sure what the fuck happened to the other nine.

I was reading somewhere else that the jurors were afraid that if they couldn't agree on a guilty verdict, the prosecutors would figure out who was holding out and make their personal lives hell.
>>
>>64510774
The fact that those officers were allowed to handle SA's case when SA was framed previously by them is also an absolute joke.
>>
>>64510702
The defense was sandbagged. They're only allowed to dismiss six potential jurors so the pool must have been filled with county employee family members.

I didnt think so, the only thing pinning him was Jay's sketchy as fuck testimony. Also right at the end she mentions that the serial killer with an MO of Hae's murder was released right before Hae's murder in that area

I need to go back and rewatch it but did I hear this pos right when he said something like, "It doesn't matter if the evidence was planted if you believe Steven Avery is guilty" in his closing argument? What?
>>
>>64511705
Don't get me wrong, I think jay had a lot more to do with it than he claimed to, but if Adnan didn't do it there's a lot of questions that need answers.

Like how did Jay know where Hae's car was? Why didn't Adnan freak out more when his ex-girlfriend was missing? Why does he remember every specific thing about that day EXCEPT for the time period of the murders? Why did he react so negatively when Sarah said the time frame was possible? Why has his story changed multiple times about asking Hae for a ride that day? Why did his cell phone ping at Leakin Park on the day of the murder? Why does his own father have a different story about Adnan spending the night with him at the mosque? And that's all just self contradictory stuff from the podcast, not even starting on all the stuff from court records that has come out since, which Sarah Koenig conveniently glanced over while she was gushing about Adnan's big brown eyes.

There's a reason it took the jury a lunch break to confirm his guilt.
>>
>>64511705
The podcast fails to mention that the released serial killer was a child murderer who probably wouldn't have been interested in a 17 year old. And that Adnan's lawyers have refused DNA tests on the liquor bottle and cigarette butts from the crime scene multiple times. He's pretty fucking guilty senpai
>>
>>64511908
i found his closing statement really strange. It almost came off as an admission that the key was planted. (which would be a huge reason for reasonable doubt, not to mention a mistrial)
>>
>>64511932
I need to listen to it again, but I definitely remember the thing about the serial killer being released in the area in the time frame. Either way I'll bare your points in mind when I listen to it again, I might have fallen victim to Koenig's bias
>>
>>64512053
It's definitely worth another listen with the new information. If you get a chance Google some of the actual court documents, there's an awful lot of information that was left out.

Regardless of Brendan of Steven being guilty, the investigation and trial were on some absolutely ridiculous shit. Like, I'm shocked the cases didn't just get thrown out and restarted multiple times.
That said, it seemed absolutely ridiculous to me that they found either guilty. I was under the impression that reasonable doubt was enough let people off innocent. The lawyers had an uphill battle though. People had decided they were guilty before the trial even started. Jurors even. How is that fucking allowed!? Innocent until proven guilty was thrown out the window from the start.

But have you worked with blood that was part of an ongoing and highly controversial police investigation?

Steven's lawyers said that the company who made those tubes doesn't extract blood that way. Even so, there would need to be documentation saying who extracted the blood, did the testing and when the blood was taken.

As well, the seal on both the evidence outer box and the styrofoam cover were broken.

Lastly, the lady that worked where the evidence was held said that there were master keys that the sheriff had and there was ample opportunity to go in there after hours.

According to those close to the case, this evidence includes the fact Avery met Halbach wearing just a towel and called her three times on the day she disappeared.

According to those close to the case, this evidence includes the fact Avery met Halbach wearing just a towel and called her three times on the day she disappeared.

Kratz also claims phone records have been left out of the popular series.
'Phone records show three calls from Avery to Teresa's cell phone on Oct. 31.One at 2:24 [p.m.], and one at 2:35 – both calls Avery uses the *67 feature so Teresa doesn't know it him... both placed before she arrives.
'Then one last call at 4:35 p.m., without the *67 feature.
'Avery first believes he can simply say she never showed up... so tries to establish the alibi call after she's already been there, hence the 4:35 call.
'She will never answer of course, so he doesn't need the *67 feature for that last call,' he said.

Why does everyone assume Dassey was some autistic savant with a dumb, child-like innocent mind which would never have hurt a fly?

Seriously, seems like every time most people talk about Dassey, that's essentially their underlying argument for why he was innocent. Because he seemed to have a dumb, childlike innocence. But he wasn't THAT dumb, and he played school sports and took school courses. You can watch him on the stand with the impression that he's a mildly dumb kid who's lying his ass off and it works.
