Some very fine films have narration. I understand it generally works much better in a novel because film is a visual medium where there film maker is expected to show and not tell, but that's not to mean it can never work.
Unless you're a first year film student and your screenwriting class teacher told you how awful voice over is in which case, yeah, "narration".
