Memes aside, the movie has many issues. It's too similar to ANH, Rey isn't as fleshed out as she could be, it moves to quickly in some spots. That scene still got me emotional both times I watched it.

Why? It was a terrible scene. The only good scenes happened when Rey was introduced on Jakku, from the ship graveyard to her wearing the helmet and staring into the distance. After that all hints of good cinematography, music and characterization went down the drain.

The force theme refrain, the practical location, the fact that it took its time, and the image of Luke's surrogate holding out his original lightsaber culminated into something that reminded me the post-RotJ stories I made up in my head when I was 9 and obsessed with Star Wars.

l saw it twice in theaters, I enjoyed it less the second time. Flaws stood out more and the things I did like at first seemed worse when I was expecting them. Movie Is poorly paced and has spotty dialogue and some shitty characters and lazy coincidences.
