Maz appears for 20 minutes then actually disappears. No exaggeration, she receives no farewell at all. They hinted a little bit yes, that she was Force sensitive but has avoided training so as to avoid conflict - kind of a coward, which is interesting sure. But instead creating a farewell scene where that characterization comes through, she is gone as quickly as she came. Probably left on the editing floor, which is no excuse.

This is correct. She looks up suddenly, then yells his name and turns around to look at him at the door.
She very clearly "Senses" him entering the bar. I'm not suggesting that she uses the force or that the movie is trying to suggest she does. I don't know what it's trying to do in that scene frankly, but my thought is that with the state of filmmaking these days that they just had her "sense" him entering for that "dramatic" moment where she calls out his name and the bar goes quiet. That's kinda the state of things in big budget movies these days, the "small" details are ignored and not thought through in favor of cheap, crowd-pleasing moments.
