May ask why did Channel Awesome fail, why did some many leave or are washed up. Hopefully this thread can shed some light on it.

I feel that the spoony incident was the beginning of the end for the now dyeing site. Sponny like many others at the top (Linkara and Brad) were treated more like friends and less than business partners by Doug (NC), Rob, and Mike Michaud. This also was a similar manner that they took with other members of TGWTG, but they weren't friendly just unprofessional or in the case of some of the women, sexist towards Lupa, NChick, and Holly (she was a business manager for the company and one of the few members that actually worked). But aside from the poor management, the site was growing in both reviewers and views. But the main issues stood which was that spoony, need to be watched like that on guy in the office, he’s a damn good worker, but only when management is riding his ass, otherwise he is lazy and says stuff that is an HR nightmare.
Then the JO incident happened and it was a PR nightmare. Lupa with the other female reviewers started a campaign to get rid of spoony. Even though spoony’s stuff brought a huge majority of the views. Now this was at a time when Channel Awesome was trying to “evolve” with its fans in the direction they thought was “right”, which was Left. They say how nerd culture was getting more and more liberal. Instead of comics and video games, they saw nerds talking about feminism, gay rights, and atheism. Hence the new focus was having rewires that focused on these topics or were gay, person of color, or a women. So to the top, it was more important to keep female reviews then one of their cash cows. Of course in the end it would not matter most the reviewers left.

After the spoony incident because they were losing views do tow three main factors. One, with spoony gone traffic died down. Two, with Nostalgia Critic over and Demo Reel being a giant flop, even more traffic was lost. And three, which was just shitty management, Doug and Rob were two focused on restoring the Nostalgic Critic traffic while carting to the SJW, with a more PC critic. Mike was too busy playing xbox live.
Reviewers were feeling neglected in support and payments and left in droves. Jewwario’s depression over took him and he unfortunately took his own life. JO moved in with Nash to only a week later admit she was cheating on him and left him while taking his place. Her new bf, I don’t know if it’s now husband, but this new guy has a good paying job and she quit reviewing since she did not need to worry about money any more. Marzgirl got married and she too has taken a break from reviewing only to come back in the Linkara movie for this one time. Team Four Stars insane success from Patreon allowed them to see no reason to be a part of Channel Awesome and they left. Sude just kind of disappeared, but he is a family man so he most likely got a 9-5 to support his family. Lupa was fired in a back hand move from Mike, who used a 15 min delay in a skype call as reason to fire her, with her Phelous left due to what happened to his finance (Lupa) and not being paid for effects work for last movie.

Lastly, Nchick left because she wanted to divorce herself from her old character, since a lot of her skits offended SJW’s since she was playing a girl who gave in to male power fantasies. Aka, the two in particular in which she was in bed with Spoony and in bed with Linkara. So where is Spoony in all of this, he went off and started a Pateron, got tons of money (+4,000K) and did nothing. And the rest in history.
TL;DR: Spoony is only able to produce content when someone is watching over him. He is incapable of managing his own life and is too dependent on fans to just give him money because of his glory days. And Channel Awesome is just severely poorly run and on it’s way to death and don’t get me started on the game show and the indigogo.

Doug Walker thought that getting more reviewers will lead to more viewers which is completely false.
RLM and Screen Junkies grew thanks to big production values, something that Doug and the rest of TGWTG has totally ignored.
Doug should have never brought in people like "Blockbuster Buster" and "Obscurus Lupa". Instead, he should have used that money to help develop production values for CinemaSnob and Linkara so that they could compete with RLM, Screen Junkies and AVGN.
