Watching the 8th episode right now where they are waiting for the verdict, damn that must've been hell.
Somehow it didn't seem that bad during the Zimzam trial but I suppose that was because they were much quicker.

His sister was brutally murdered and it's almost certain that Steven Avery did it. Are you that easily swayed by a shitty documentary series?

Did you watch the doc? There's a shit load of evidence.

Well he did answer the door in nothing but a towel, and she complained to several people previously that he was calling her frequently and making her really uncomfortable.

Idk man I think it's just really sketchy that he was the last person to see her alive.

He may have raped her and then panicked and decided to just kill her and manipulate his retard family to help him cover it up and hide the evidence

I struggled to cut the brother some slack since he was grieving and just wanted justice. I didn't turn on him until Brendan's trial. The scenarios presented in Steven's and Brendan's trials were completely different, showing the police didn't know what the fuck happened at all. How could he be satisfied with that?

I don't know what would be more kekworthy.

Give me a succinct, well-written paragraph to persuade me that Steven or Brendan should not be in prison. I bet you're voting for Bernie Sanders.
>>
>>64446551
I would guess that is because there was inconclusive evidence as to what they even did to her body. The bullet holes on her skull fragments were the only pieces of evidence as to how she actually died. They couldn't prove whatever else might have happened to the body.

Also I find it odd that Avery would choose to shoot her in the head with a .22

At least do it with a .38, 9mm or one that kills with one shot

What is internal haemorrhaging?
>>
>>64449184
If he called a mistrial it would literally be the same case. with different jurors. There wouldn't be enough to time for new evidence or anything. However, he would still have to pay his lawyers for the extra 6 weeks of trial. The small defense firm I work for charges $3,000 per day of trial, which is average, multiply that by 2 lawyers and it will burn through that settlement fast. There is also the chance the new jurors will be worse than the sitting ones.
>>
>>64449425
The jurors were split 7-not guilty, 2-undecided and 3-guilty IIRC at their beginning vote.
Someone on that jury must've been really passionate about Steven being guilty.

... fucking seriously?
>>
avery did it, that i'm almost sure of

however i don't think he did it in the way the state presented it and i don't think he received a fair trial. the cops framed a guilty man.

i also don't think he was alone, but i don't think brendan played as big a role as he was charged for. possibly he stumbled into some shit or was coerced into helping dispose the body, but i don't think he raped her while she tied to the bed.

i think it's a decent series and does a good job at highlighting police biases and prejudice, but it was too partial to avery as an innocent man and it didn't offer any alternatives.
>>
>>64449617
Yeah.
>>
>>64449502
More likely they didn't really care, knew he was a filthy, incestuous degenerate anyway, and wanted to get back on with their lives.

>Making A Murderer
what the fuck is this all about anyways? I read some summaries but I cant quite understand
>>
>>64450020

It's a multi-part documentary about a guy who was framed by the cops, the D.A., and at least one judge: Twice.
>>
>>64450074
>It's a multi-part documentary about a guy who was framed by the cops, the D.A., and at least one judge
And then given a proper fair trial and was found guilty of committing a heinous murder.
>>
>>64444312
what exactly was the point of them putting this in the documentary other than to make him look even worse than they already made him out to be?
>>
>>64450141

By fair trial, you mean an extremely well orchestrated farce that would have never flown anywhere else in the country?
>>
>>64450141
>given a proper fair trial
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>
>>64450020
> guy goes to prison for rape despite having an alibi and everybody in his family being 100% sure he didn't do it since they spent the day of the crime with him
> after 18 years evidence comes out he didn't do it
> gets released
> two years later goes back to jail for murder and rape for life
> his retarded nephew is also convicted
> they're in jail til this day

The documentary shows how unfair their trials were (regardless of whether they were guilty or not). Their based most of their case on the coerced testimony of a literal tard who was questioned without a lawyer present for example.
>>
>>64450213
By fair trial, I mean he had a fair and honourable judge and jury.
>>
>>64450173
The show is entertainment, not a news report. Grow up.
>>
>>64450173
He complained the documentary makers included irrelevant info on him to make him look bad. Just like he did to the Averys
>>
>>64450227

Whoah there. He's become a big guy.
Didn't know you could gain weight like that in prison, does he get to eat as much as he wants or is he on some heavy medication with side effects?
>>
The documentary is bullshit, they omit a lot of info:

>>""What was some of the evidence that was excluded from Making a Murderer?
Avery’s DNA was found under [Teresa’s car’s] trunk. [Later, and in a separate correspondence, Kratz said this DNA evidence was found under the hood, suggesting that Kratz misspoke at one point in the interview.] It wasn’t blood. It was from his sweaty hands. Do the cops also have a vial of his sweat that they are carrying around? The evidence conclusively shows that Steven Avery’s hand was under the hood when he insists he never touched her car.

Teresa’s phone, camera and [other contents of her purse] were found 20 feet from Avery's door, burned in his barrel...Two people saw him putting that stuff in there. This isn’t contested. It was all presented as evidence at the jury trial, and the documentary people don’t tell you that."

>>
>>64450232

Don't forget the part where they have the movie moment where the actual killer nearly admits to killing the victim on the stand, outright says that he had access to her phone account (when they were trying to figure out who deleted several voicemails that were left on her phone), just happens to be the guy who lead the search for her, and chuckles the prosecutor completely ignored it after about thirty seconds of being dumdfounded by what he had just heard.

Orchestrated evidence, coercion of retard to provide false evidence.

Motive of the police and state to permanently incarcerate Steven.

I guarantee if Wisconsin had the death penalty, Avery would have been shipped straight into the morgue as opposed to the regular 20+ years even the most depraved criminals wait.
>>
>>64450361
That wasn't omitted from the show and it also cannot be confirmed the dna came from his hands.

Try again.
>>
>>64450334
one of the most well known facts in life is how inmates at least in American prisons get fat easily when inside. it's because they are given junk to eat and sit around a lot, literally everyone including all your friends and family knows this but you
>>
>>64450368
You mean the ex boyfriend?
What exactly did he say?
I remember his testimony sounding like he was lying when he said he couldn't remember what fucking time he saw her last, not even if it was afternoon or morning or night, but I wasn't playing close enough attention it seems.
Did catch him having access but never heard anything about records being deleted.
>>
>>64450284
It seemed more in favor of the prosecution just IMO they used contaminated evidence they found months later from a spot they looked at again that wasn't even mentioned until March
>>
>>64450505
How does any of that imply an unfair trial.

The prosecution presents their evidence
The defence disputes any evidence that doesn't stand up.
The jury make their decision.
>>
>>64450361
>Do the cops also have a vial of his sweat
Most likely yes, or at least pieces of clothing he wore during his 18 years
>>
>>64450511
Not an American, why would I know such things about your country?

All I know is from movie cliches is that people in prison get /fit/, while I didn't think that was a universal truth I just never thought about it enough to think that the opposite might occur.
>>
>>64450533
The trial was just and fair. If it seemed in favor of the prosecution it is probably because you have only seen small glimpses of the trial.

I do believe the police planted evidence btw.
>>
>>64450334
This is so sad. What a horrible, shitty, sad life he's leading. Hope he had a nice childhood at least.
>>
>>64450571
>The prosecution presents their evidence
which was planted on the scene by the prosecution
>The defence disputes any evidence
Correct and they succeed resulting in "The jurors were split 7-not guilty, 2-undecided and 3-guilty IIRC at their beginning vote"
>The jury make their decision
The jury are coerced, either by money or perhaps even threats of false accusations. (note the judges emphasis on the jury making the "Right decision"
>>

Prison food is incredibly unhealthy, it's nothing but processed carbs. Not to mention I guarantee his mother wired money onto his books so he could buy candy, chips, soda, etc from commissary. Hollywood's portrayal of inmates being super ripped is a meme, in fact most inmates are chubby or obese.

What is the cut off IQ limit for when an interrogation like what happened with Brendan over and over could not be admissible in court, let alone as a juvenile? Was he just like 10 points higher than that or is there nothing set on a specific scale?

>>
>>64450668
I'm saying that at one point they show bullets they found in the garage that had Teresa's DNA on them. But the girl who tested them says they had been contaminated during testing, so how do we know they didn't accidentally get her DNA on it or not?
>>
>>64451199
>accidentally
on purpose
>>
>>64451070
I'm pretty sure if he was in intellectual disability range (IQ under 70) it would get thrown out with little competition. But he's 73 so the prosecution can say he's not and be technically correct so it's muddy.
>>
>>64451155
It doesn't compare to them in any way.

It's a hyper-extension because you believe he is innocent. Probably the least scientific way you could look at anything.
>>
>>64451070
I think it's not supposed to be admissible on account that there wasn't even a lawyer present and he was a minor.

They probably didn't read him his rights (not that he would've understood them) and they didn't have to since he wasn't under arrest or anything but he probably thought he was under arrest and would've said anything to get out quickly.
>>
>>64451199

Not only that, but her lab has a history of cross contamination not just from the lab, but from other cases. As well, she still had previous evidence from this case on her worktable as she was working on this bullet, four months after the rest of that evidence was tested.

She is beyond incompetent.
>>
>>64451066

he got caught lying just before. he was trying to distract away from that and buy sympathy.

Man, looks like he missed it just by a little bit as I thought. He was like silly putty in their hands.
>>
>>64451288
>It doesn't compare to them in any way
Y'know unless the cops had a history of false allegations..

Oh wait.
>>
>>64451199
It is the prosecutions job to show that evidence is not 100% fact.

And they did.
