Cooper and Brand thought love was the key because they were deluded from being away from their loved ones for so long. The 5th dimensional beings saw a logical connection in time between Cooper and his daughter to build the tessaract around so he could help her.

Prestige is great. The twists are fun, sure, but it doesn't rely on them like shamalama. Top performances and production design.
And Batman Begins is literally the best origin story yet.
The Prestige is objectively his best movie though. Only Reddit disagrees.
