That was the most Anglo-Saxon moment in the trilogy.

The rohirrim were fucked, they knew they were fucked, but they charged anyway since that was what they had to do. Fighting hard even when you knew the battle was lost is a very powerful theme in North Germanic culture, most poignantly shown in Ragnarok where the gods knew who was going to kill them, and how, but they accepted this as their lot in life.

I was very disappointed with how the forest was done (it was okay but should've been a bit longer and darker) and missed that specific scene with Bombur. Others having to carry and drag him around, making their journey even more tiresome and awful and all. Are you kidding me?

I guess that's the point a little, it's tiresome and awful. Was my favourite part of the book, them having to walk through the fucking dark woods for hours, not knowing when it will end, with Boromir falling in the water and them diverging from the path because of the elvish parties. And finally the spiders.

Which were done retardedly at some points as well, how the fuck would Bilbo even be able to cut himself out once trapped? None of the others were able to.

Star Wars shit doesn't count.

Everything about LOTR was just unironically epic. The themes, the characters, the music, everything.
Is this the fantasy genre? Or is it some thing different?

There's hundreds of shitty 10-book-fantasy-series out there, aren't there? Does any one of them incite similar feels?

Most people here would probably bitch about how Aragorn is a Mary Sue, how there isn't as much depth as there is in the book like multiple pages describing a patch of grass, or how it's constantly overly corny.

As well as that, hipster faggots from you-know-where would throw a huge tantrums about you-know-what-iny and you-know-which-ism-ism. And this place would probably parrot those in an effort to hate the films.

>>
>>64435593
People complaining about the songs in the first Hobbit movie are fags who only pretend to like Tolkien desu.
>>
The only thing that annoys me about the extended editions is the implication in Fangorn forest that once Merry & Pippin are thrown before the white wizard the idea that they are orcs is resolved. Then about 30 minutes later the scene from the theatrical version appears where the ents decide that Merry & Pippin aren't orcs all over again. FFS it's just retarded and because the two scenes are now so far from each other it's just jarring.

Anyway, comfy movies senpai, love em to pieces. Even the menu scene.
