Kotor 1 works better as a film because it has a 3 act structure (Act 1: Endar Spire/Taris/Jedi Training, Act 2: Finding the Star Forge, Act 3: Rakata Prime and the Star Forge).
Kotor 2 on the otherhand is much better placed for a Television series with each of the planets taking an entire episode.
