I always used to defend SM3, but after re-watching the trilogy recently it is genuinely not very good.
A lot of the comedy falls flat (mainly the scenes with Jameson), and the plot is obviously a complete mess. The big setpiece fights weren't very exciting either, too much reliance on CGI. Plus none of the actors seem very energetic or interested, like they all knew that the movie was bad and they were faintly embarrassed to be there.
