Last meals are often served during the week of and not immediately before so he may have got served dinner at 6pm during that week and then stayed up until 3 am watching the movies or something. In fact, I doubt they feed them at all 24 hours or so prior to killing them because it's almost sure to end up with them having to clean up shit or vomit.

I'd like a nice slice of lamb and some gumbo and rice with a coconut cake for dessert. I'd like to watch Empire Strikes Back, Eva 2.22, and Casino Royale. I can't think of anything better at the moment but I haven't seen those in a while and I liked them a lot. Execution is pretty immoral in my opinion. Nothing good really comes from it, there's no way to redeem yourself after death, and no matter where you're sitting in that room it must feel pretty fucked up to be at an execution.

It depends on your idea of redemption. Most likely not in the eyes of others, but they can better themselves over time since they'll have plenty of it. There are always exceptions to every rule, but for the most part I think less people should get the death sentence since a lot of them may be young and stupid or they act out of desperation and fear. People with mental issues that are psychotic serial killers would be the exception, and anybody who kills for pleasure.
