I would say on 75% of questions, everyone knows the answer and its just a buzzer exercise. Which gives the retuning champ an overwhelming advantage.
All your studying goes right out the window when you're under the lights, in front of the audience, on TV. Its terrifying.
You can buzz in when this light goes on behind trebek, so you have to be watching the light, thinking of the answer, and waiting for trek to finish reading all at the same time. A lot of moving parts desu.

I'd be all for them making a movie out of the Celebrity Jeopardy sketch.
The movie starts with Trebek, Connery, Burt, and some other celebrity taping an episode. Connery or Burt, while fucking around and messing with Trebek, do something that accidentally destroys the Celebrity Jeopardy set.
Cut to Trebek, Connery and Burt in some executive's office. The executive tells them this was the last straw and that all three of them are fired from Celebrity Jeopardy.
Out of a job, Trebek, Connery and Burt have to move into a shitty apartment together and try to find new jobs.in case I have to spell it out, in the universe of this movie, there is no regular Jeopardy. All three of them are/were full time employees on Celebrity Jeopardy. Connery and Burt Reynolds do not have millions saved up from years of acting, and cannot fall back on their acting careers. In the movie's universe, losing the Celebrity Jeopardy gig actually fucks their lives up and makes them broke.
