Every fucking scene that shows Lucas has everyone looking worried and sheepish.

They all stand around in silence and their body language generally shows they are nervous.

Was Lucas a giant prick on set or something?
>>
>all of those people intensely watching at why they assume to be a master at work

>>64397706
He's highlighting in pink everything that isn't CGI, and in yellow everything that will be.

I like how on a close up of an actors face, he had to highlight it in pink. "Just so you guys know, actors are real. I'm the genius and you guys are fucking morons so I'm going to have to emphasize this for you"
>>
>>64397794
It's downright jarring whenever Lucas goes "lol idk famalam, let's just go with it see whether it'll work lol".
>>
>>64397761
>Was Lucas a giant prick on set or something?

He was incredibly demanding and often pushed the production team to do some ridiculous stuff that never worked that they had to go back and redo their own way to get it to work. Most of the older team from ILM either left or burned bridges as they left because of it. Episode II and III had a much younger ILM staff working on it, and it wasn't because of the CGI it was because most of Lucas old crew were fed up with his shit. Less than a handful of ILM guys from Episode I were left.
>>
>>64397761
>Every fucking scene that shows Lucas has everyone looking worried and sheepish.

Think about how much authority Lucas had over the Prequels. He wasn't just the writer/director, he was The Boss of all these people, the founder, owner and chief executive of nearly all the companies involved, the guy who signed the paychecks. Who could stand up to that?

making a good movie is what every filmmaker strives for, literally why even do it if that's not it? just to stroke your own ego and tell yourself 'it IS gud desu senpai' while you cry yourself to sleep in your cardboard box?

i get what you're going for, but even small movies like Primer or Pi weren't made by a single man and had a huge team of people who knew what they were doing and had their input

and hey i want to go to bed too just stop replying m8

He predicted the future. For better or worse.

Movies that are finished on severe deadlines, when it's all up to the VFX department.

>“The team threw a Hail Mary to George, saying the game would have more credibility if the apprentice had a ‘Darth’ title,” a Force Unleashed team member says. Lucas agreed that this situation made sense for Sith royalty, and offered up two Darth titles for the team to choose from. “He threw out ‘Darth Icky’ and ‘Darth Insanius.’ There was a pregnant pause in the room after that. People waiting for George to say ‘just kidding,’ but it never comes, and he just moved on to another point.”

>Team members involved in the decision to not use these ridiculous Darth titles could not be reached for comment, but three LucasArts employees believe an excuse was made to push the Darth title to the sequel. By the time development on that title commenced, the names were long forgotten by Lucas and weren’t muttered by the development team again. Starkiller remained Starkiller in the games, but was also named Galen Marek in the greater Expanded Universe fiction.

If you watch the video, Lucas expresses his concern over Jake Lloyd's acting several times and pretty early into filming. As over-involved as he was into the production of the prequels, it still seems as though he's always been pretty lax on his actors (filming dialogue scenes in as little as 2 takes, etc).

Most interesting part of that making of is the editor talking about George "directing in the editing room" and it shows a scene of george essentially wanting to matte out an actor so he could resync him on a different timecode than what the rest of the scene takes place on, which leads to the editor saying in a muted way "george is overcomplicated this shit"
>>
>>64404600
Because almost all the aliens in the prequels looked like shit. Maybe if he had just let the artists do their jobs instead of having to fuck everything up it wouldn't have been that bad
