So guys, I'm thinking about picking up the Zavvi Frozen Steelbook. It comes with 3D and it's a special edition case, which are huge pluses, but it's going for around $80-100+. I've never spent that much on a Blu-Ray before, should I go through with it?

Yes, BD-XL which is for 4K video, Unless you plan on buying a 4K tv and a 4K Blu-ray player (PS4/Xbone won't work), Blu-ray will be the final physical format that is popular.
BD-XL releases will probably come with the normal Blu-ray discs / Ultraviolet / DVD the way that 3D Blu-rays currently do.
My parents back home have a large collection of DVDs, and every now and then I'll transcode and store them on a server hosted onsite. This probably isn't even 10% of it but it's the stuff that caught my eye at the time mostly.

I don't have any 3D blu-rays, I do have dvds but I put most of them (mostly film box sets) in a box because I couldn't stand to look at them.
Now I just have the two series of GitS, a box set of the first two of the films and the SSS film, all on dvd on display. Arise and a double bill set of the first two films on blu rays is next to them,
that kind of works for me because it's all GitS stuff, but it pisses me off I don't have the series on blu ray (which I will never get) or SSS on blu ray (which I will eventually.)
I regret getting any of it because I feel like the only perfect collection is no collection.

Yeah, I usually organize my blu-ray shelf by Collector Sets/Criterion/Steelbook/Everything else and alphabetize within those secitions, but I think once I set up a new media cabinet I'm gonna give my Disney and Godzilla shit their own shelf.

I've seen all 3 cuts, and Ultimate is the only way I can watch it anymore. It adds a whole new narrative and, if you can understand the context, fleshes out characters in ways they needed to be. There's a few pacing issues, but that's to be expected in a 4 hour cut and it's nothing that really takes you out of it.
