Great films:
2001: A Space Odyssey
Dr. Strangelove
A Clockwork Orange
Almost great (but still awesome) films
Eyes Wide Shut
Full Metal Jacket (this would be one of Kubrick's great films if the second half were as awesome as the first half)
Barry Lyndon (cinematography alone would rank this a great film; I found the story somewhat lacking)
The Shining
Spartacus
Lolita
I don't rank any of his earlier work because he wasn't established yet and didn't have as much control over the entire project.
>>64375794
The Happening is great but Last Airbender isn't that entertaining
>>64375682
>>64375794
OP said from best to worst
>>64370075
>>64370314
I don't see why this is such a controversial opinion. I like Kill Bill for exactly the same reasons it's disparaged on /tv/, its visceral, over-the-top, cartoon-like nature. If you're going to watch a Tarantino flick, I figure why not go all the way and watch the goofiest one there is?
>>64370084
Agreed, those are the two most watchable of Nolan's movies.
>>64370481
American Graffiti is such a great character story. It makes it all the more baffling that the same mind who created AG later made the extremely underwhelming character stories that were the prequels.
>>64369984
Why do these threads always start with taranshit?
2001
Dr Strangelove
Barry Lyndon
Eyes wide Shut
Paths of Glory
The Shining
A Clockwork Orange
Full Metal Jacket
Spartacus
