Some people say that there is a lack of truly villainous female characters in television and film.
That's not true, because femme fatales, bad-ass henchwomen, criminally insane harpies, and bitchy authoritarians are a dime a dozen.
I don't think, however, there are many female villains who actually project terrifying power and menace. Are there any good examples?

Possibly Tyrell's wife on Mr Robot. Finale had one scene between her and Elliott where he mentions how uncomfortable he feels in her presence.

Tyrell and his wife were pretty believable as villains early on, but after he fucked up they just seemed desperate and scared. Plus Elliot is uncomfortable in everyone's presence. Maybe the next season will boost their credibility.
