You're attempting to take away 'leverage' out of techniques. You simply can't. Its completely integral to combat with melee weapons. They are one in the same.
A 'technique' that follows what you describe would be one that completely avoids every blow and the weapons would never make contact. As evidenced by the movies, this isn't how light saber battles are fought.

But you can. One's understanding of how and where to strike is different than the physical capability to apply x many Newtons to a particular point on the blade. Physical capability and Understanding are the 2 main different points here- and they make the distinction between Leverage and technique, respectively. This saber would fit thematically in the original trilogy (i found the prequels to have a more eloquent and eastern style to them) as one of lukes students who gets killed by kylo. notice how i had the colors fade from bright to dark as it draws to the handle.
