what films depict what its like to be in a dream the best ?
for me it has to be eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
>that person with no face is like my nightmares

It's Such A Beautiful Day.

Who's a better manic pixie dream girl, her, or pic related

This movie and the two characters reminded me so much of my failing relationship at the time it made me physically sick.
Mind Game.

this movie hits a fever dream like nothing else I've ever seen
the way especially the motifs sort of fade in and out and realities branch off into their own little compartmentalized worlds
INLAND

Clem is decidedly not a MPDG. That's the whole point. She even goes out of her way to explain that fact to Joel, and the entire movie is literally about Joel deconstructing her to see that she's just another scared and lonely human being just like him.
I'm not entirely sure you actually understand what "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" means.
>>64352664
you obviously don't
vulnerable women like her don't exists, thus dream girl status.
btfo
>>64352664
her character is an archetype dream girl, she's literally in Joel's dreams... btfo...
Anything David Lynch has made, really, especially Lost Highway.
Old Country for No Men

I've seen this. It's far too structured and filmic
The Forbidden Room has a way of the narrative dissolving into itself, and great shifts in tone and time(?) and place happen in seconds in a way that you don't feel the jarring effect
it really is a perfect dream emulation
in my opinion, this is the best one i have seen and my favourite film
>>64350976
>eternal sunshine
>depicts a dream
Eh, not really.
Great film, but I wouldn't say it's an accurate depiction of a dream or that it was even going for that. It does have some neat little parts.
>he asks the doctor in his memory what the guy's name is
>doctor elongates "paaaaaaaaatrick" because he only remembers how the name starts, and then eventually remembers the rest

If we're using the term this loosely?
Probably Annie Hall.
>>64351050
Wow, how did you manage to miss the entire oint of the movie, which wasn't even ambiguous or subjective?

beyond the black rainbow is way more profound and true to life's understanding of dream logic

You gotta be obsessed with Dream sequences to make em as good
>>64353203
it pretty much depicts one long nightmare ya dingus

It was a film, and a film of Satoshi Kon. It doesn't belong in the same category as Naruto. Yes it is Japanese animation, but it is quite different.
Nolan wishes Inception came close to Paprika concerning diving into dreams as psychological counseling.
Mulholland Drive, really captures how things make sense but only vaguely.
