Watching the recordings of Brendan during the initial statement and also that part where the guy made him write it out made it look pretty fucking obvious that he didn't do anything. Both times the investigators basically had to walk him through it and the second time the guy had to tell him what he supposedly did again because he couldn't remember from the first statement they made him do.

Yeah, but the confession in the documentary is cut in a way that makes it seem like they're feeding him all of the answers and he's just saying yes. Also that bit at the end with him saying that they made him say stuff he didn't do was more about selling drugs than the actual murder.
They take a 3 hour confession and show you 3 minutes of it and then tell you the whole thing was a sham. Same thing with the other confession. The kid had shitty lawyers, but you're looking at a very biased documentary.
