There's some truth in what you're saying, albeit a big hyperbolic.
If the show just caught predators, that would be a good and okay thing, but the tactics they employ on the show are—I think most can agree—questionable. For example, for many cases, they outright claim the decoy initiated conversation and goaded the guys into it by willing and persistent conversation.
A lot of these guys are just sad losers who'd literally fuck anyone who gave them willing and persistent attention. You could do a show exactly like "To Catch a Predator" only with a 45 year old woman and you'd get the same results. In essence, it's not actually catching and exposing pedophiles as much as it is catching and exposing the lonely and desperate.
Ironically enough, their tactics are predatory.

I , in no way defend pedos, but I hate this show for the simple reason of not catching any female predators. I can't express my contempt for Chris Hansens mysandry. Again I like that they catch male predators, that's great. But , the fact that thes never attenlmpted to catch a single female predator is ficking disgusting.
