The Coen Brothers are probably the only ones still consistently working with a possibly comparable body of work and level of technique, as far as quality goes. (Coppola, Friedkin, Schrader, and others from Scorsese's generation don't make films as regularly, and younger filmmakers like Fincher, and the two prestigious Andersons just don't have filmographies yet)
