Well you know Soho had its very own village vibe up until the last few years, with many stage actors renting or even owning a flat in the area, but the place has had its cultural heart ripped out of late, sadly - that's what money and corrupt government does..

That Peter Kay Thing is top quality comfy TV. The Ice Cream Man Cometh episode is bloody hilarious
>>
>>64290638
I didn't like it that much. It's better than Peter Kay's other stuff, but I think adapting the same ideas into a regular sitcom with two other writers made it far better.

Peter Kay relies far too much on meme humour. He's a good character actor, but the jokes often boil down to "it's a catchphrase, therefore it's funny."

>>64291011
The council enforced licensing zoning measures which became ever stricter, the land became more valuable, the kids that inherited vice businesses for the most part sold up and quit the area, stuff like Grindr/Tindr happened...

I can't be the only person thinking - damn - this thread reminds me what /tv/ was like when it was a new board. Shame the same can't be said for /b/ when it was the only board. OK enough reminiscing, I have some Seinfeld to watch, and I'm glad I didn't watch it when it was first aired as I wouldn't have appreciated it.

I've been hearing this on and off for at least ten years.

I really want a "Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?" type sequel with all the original actors and writers. Not a film to copy the success of The Inbetweeners Movie (Peter Kay was considering this a few years ago).
>>

One of the actresses from that said this is very unlikely to ever happen and she certainly wouldn't be in it. Nice to see the series mentioned here.

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.

Pretty comfy show, had some laughs. David Cross was in pretty good form. Jon Hamm was funny and Neil from The Inbetweeners was alright. The women were quite annoying.

I grew up in the 70s/80s, they were never mentioned in the news, seem to be a recent-ish thing up North. Went up to Lancashire a couple of years ago - used to be 100% white, fuck me nowadays it should be called Lancy-stan.

When?

Industrial areas have had a high Asian immigration since the early twentieth century.

The BFI Archives are interesting for this, since it seems like people went from giving a shit, to not giving a shit, to giving a shit again.

Back in the 70s-late 80s. Hey I was born in London, married to a Japanese, best man at the wedding was Chinese, best friend is half Jamaican, half Egyptian. I don't consider myself racist at all, but fuck me the asians up North all seemed to have a major fucking chip on their shoulder and no desire whatsoever to integrate. Asians in London over 40 are in general really good company, but their kids all seem to have turned out pretty shitty. Sikh Londoners are fucking good people though.
