What does /tv/ think of the life aquatic with Steve Zissou?

anderson's worst. feels disjointed and emotionally empty. a complete opposite of moonrise kingdom
I too enjoy the films of Wes Anderson
drivel
Watched it today.
It's pretty bland and empty.

Greatest achievement in films so far

It's the only movie by Wes Anderson I could barely stand to finish. I hated it.
My favorite is Darjeeling, though.
Wes Anderson's best movie
Darjeeling Limited is boring as fuck

Not as boring as your mom was last night.
>>64283959
it gets better every time you watch it
tenenbaums > life aquatic > rushmore > the fox > bottle rocket > moonrise kingdom > LTD > le grande le budapest hotel

I'm an Anderson fan but this didnt work for me. The Zissou character is a little too Murray on autopilot. He did similar characters better in Broken Flowers, Rushmore, Lost in Translation. Zissou himself never emerges, just "Hey, you know, Bill Murray."
>come in to this thread expecting everyone to praise it
>my opinion is the first post

it's hard to be a contrarian, isn't it?

I hope this list is in reverse.

Eli Roth's MEG movie is dead on arrival thanks to the le epic Megasharknado maymays anyway, but to make things worse, Anderson already adapted the Mariana incident backstory from the book, literally, but played for laughs.
Who would've thought the man reads this pulpy shit.
>people unironically leave Rushmore out of their top 3
