Bait but I still have a legitimate question:
Why do people like this movie so much? Is it all just nostalgia? I love "The Thing" for example but Alien was fucking boredom, there was zero suspense because it relies on the twist that Ripley survives (Ohhhooooho how surprising) and the only thing it does well is this sort of world building, but it doesn't matter either, after reading some Lovecraft you have already gone miles beyond this superficial level of mysticism.
But I am open to interpretation, please tell me what you like so much about it.
