Is he a good choice to direct Episode VIII?
Why did Disney pick someone with such a short resume of movies?
I saw Brick and Looper and I enjoyed them, how is The Brothers Bloom?

EPV and VI proved that resumes don't really matter. When it comes to sci-fi movies, its all about team effort.

Not sure. Star Wars requires astronomical effort in comparison to Brick or Looper. Many directors failed at handling huge projects. Time will tell.
With that being said, I'd love to see Josh Trank handle a Star Wars movie just for the schadenfreude.
I actually have very high hopes for this movie because of Rian Johnson. I was really surprised they picked him for making a movie of this scale
literally anybody is better than Abrams

Why, Based Kershner, of course.

ST:TFA makes a billion, they don't care because it will make top box office money no matter who is picked. Truly talented writers don't want it because there is no real challenge. Fans will eat it up no matter what.

The best possible remake of the best up to then JB? Why you hate Connery anon?
The guy directing episode 9 is bad, I don't have a problem with Rian.

m8 star wars is way easier than something smaller.
Why do you think directors only do big budget movies after they make it. They've got literally the billion dollar wallet of disney at their disposal.
These studio movies basically make themselves, the directors are just a face.

he'll do fine, and I'm sure it will be "weird" for a star wars movie, but it will be weird in a good way. I'm much more worried about the director for ep 8

>more worried about the director for ep 8
i mean ep. 9, not 8
