Jesus Christ, there is literally nothing but bad reviews on the entire metacritic user reviews first page for TFA right now, it's doesnt get that bad even during console exclusive holy wars:

http://www.metacritic.com/movie/star-wars-episode-vii---the-force-awakens/user-reviews

DISNEY AND JJ ABRAMS BTFO
>>
I didn't like the Force Awakens the first time because I was too preoccupied waiting for them to say the name of the movie in the dialogue (if they said "The Force awakens" then my friends would make me take 2 tabs of LSD).

The second time I went and saw it with my mother and I thought it was awesome. No critic or internet contrarian can invalidate my experience of having enjoyed it alongside my mother.
>>
>>64271984
Unfortunately it seems like many users don't understand that films are not their stupid video games and rating a competently made film 1 is extremely childish and idiotic.

TFA is a well made adventure film. Nothing more, nothing less. The old trilogy wasn't even that good, so claiming that TFA ruined something is simply laughable.

If I was to rate it as movie then it would just barely be better than 1 and 2. I just feel like something is missing from it, too little exposition, I feel like Jew Jew cut out a lot of filmed scenes for more action less talk.

However I really liked it both times I watched it. Looking forward to more Kylo Ren and his character arc. Easily the most interesting character from the new trilogy.

No because it's true.

For example people complain that Rey, Poe and Finn are too simplistic and underdeveloped. And yet, the characters from OT are exactly like that too.

The original trilogy is a simplistic fantasy adventure story. The only thing that makes ANH better than TFA is the fact that ANH was fresh and original when it came out in 1977, and with TFA we already see plenty of movies like it every year.

This is not a video game. When it comes to films the critics are much more important than the pedestrian audiences.

50 Shades of Gray is probably the best strongly marketed movie that deals with BDSM. It's also the only strongly marketed movie that deals with BDSM. It's popular because it caters to an audience that Hollywood usually ignores, same with Twilight. In these cases popularity really doesn't have much to do with quality cause the audience isn't really given a choice.

Those aren't team-up movies. In the case of those franchises, it's unusual when there isn't a team-up. The Avengers movie was novel because it featured heroes from different series teaming up to form a team.

yeah the humour was a bit much. It could be because so many humorous characters clashed:
-Finn: kinda comic relief likeable guy
-Han solo: over all serious but sarcastic as fuq
-Poe: same as with Han
-Chewie: Raauurrghh
-BB-8
-C-3PO

and additional to that there were some comedic stormtrooper scenes. Scenes like that were in the OT too but it really adds up if your movie in only 2 hours long and you got so many "funny" characters

Friendly reminder that the only reason anyone could EVER dislike this flick is trolling

The movie was really good. Trying to cast aside my disappointment with eps 1-3 and my nostalgia for 4-6 compiled with my anticipation and emotional investment in the whole event is difficult, but even then I need to cast aside my cynicism for the whole franchise after the whole "everything is canon, even The Force Unleashed" and the subsequent "hardly anything is canon. How over marketed it is is also annoying. All that considered, I really think it's my favorite Star Wars movie. It's hard to say if it's better than Empire Strikes back, so I'll settle for saying it's not the best, but it's up there.

Why are you sharing tame and uninteresting reddit posts? I don't even see how they support what you wrote here. What does any of this mean?
