It's a very difficult question. Obviously there are many continuities in the franchise and even in a single continuity there were multiple Godzillas, Rodans and Mothras yet we treat them as movie stars almost. As single characters. So fans have problems where's the difference. Moguera and Mechagodzilla have different versions with different origins yet fans treat them as just different version of the same character. yet Mothra is a different character than Mothra Leo. There's Ghidorah and there's DesGhidorah and Monster X. I'd say King Ghidorah and Mecha-King Ghidorah is the msot difficult question.

I just really couldn't get into it at all. The movies I consider fun, like Mechagodzilla, at least kept things at a brisk pace and didn't get bogged down a lot.
With King Kong v Godzilla, I just found most of the jokey characters rather annoying, I couldn't really get into any of the characters, the effects photography (like in the godzilla landing) seemed way off, and it seem to plod on for moments in time.
It's like toho put all the effort into getting King Kong that they didn't really care to put much else to the rest of the movie (minus the godzilla suit).

Not just an issue of budget restrictions, but also very limited time on pre-production. Kong looks crap, but some of the miniature/FX shots are still pretty good.

Seeing the new Godzilla, I can only fathom what an Anno Ghidorah would look like, the horror.
I'm pretty hyped for the sequel to the 2014 movie as well as the Japanese version in 2016 although slightly less so because I don't know what's their plan. A new series? If that's so then it will proably be a reboot because I can't see a whole series with that mutant abomination as our lead monster. It can work well enough for one movie. It all seems like a knee-jerk reaction following the success of the American version but I'm glad because currently we live in the age where they develop two Godzilla movies, a King Kong movie and a Gamera movie.

It's horrible. Painful. Other movies from that era are at least entertaining but this? Nakajima isn't Godzilla and the change is so noticeable. The new actor is by far the worst Godzilla ever. Walks like a chicken. Like he was trying to move fast but was afraid he would fall. This is also the only movie that explicitly showed Godzilla as a superhero. Even if he was friendly before they always found a way to get him under mind control or the military would attack him or something. In GvM he patiently waits for the G-signal or I don't know. All monsters are anthropomorphised to the extreme and Megalon belongs in Power Rangers. The plot is even stupider than Godzilla vs Gigan but has no Anguirus to save it and Gigan only appears out of nowhere for a short fight scene with some stock footage. It's cheap even for standards of the late Showa period. I'm sure some people like movies like this or Manos the Hands of Fate but when marathoning the series I can't wait to watch Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla.
