Might need some oil and maintenance, but we wouldn't build robots unless they were better than the things we're building them to replace.
Why breed, train, raise, feed, and look after a bantha's health if you can have a bantha robot? And why would bantha robots ever be a thing if banthas are better? I doubt banthas are rare and expensive if Sand People ride them often, and I doubt they last longer than a robot.
