because cameras dont exist in SW, do they
that cockpit rationale is like putting another steering wheel in the trunk of my car so i can see better when i reverse; oops nevermind i have a camera that pops up in my read view mirror

Does every transport get a Captain Phasma ?
>>
What I want to know is why every entry ramp has jets blowing dry ice when moving up and down. The transport does that at the start, and I swear I've seen the Falcon do it, too.

The pilot outfit looks cool, though.
>>

>>

>>
>>64236590
Yeah... that design is one blaster shot from about 40% of available angles away from killing the pilot and fucking over the occupants. A squad of A-wings could tear a few dozen of those things to shreds.
>>
>>64235670
Even if there's no cameras wouldn't the ship's hull just obscure the landing area from that position.

It should be under the ship's belly if they wanted to give the best view to the pilot.

Space Hinds were so much better why didn't they go with an updated version of those considering they didn't have any problem stealing every single other thing from the prequels or the OT

It was one of the discarded Tantive designs from McQuarrie IIRC. Or it could have been Falcon, don't remember. And yes grey ships is part of what makes the SW aesthetic. They probably used so much white / whitish colours because RMQ was a former NASA illustrator - NASA craft actually had practical reasons to be white and reflective.

No, it's just that America produced the most iconic amphibious landing craft of all time during WW2 in the LCMs such as the "Higgins boat". The Japanese had similar, but much less famous, designs. The Germans had basically fuck-all, which is why they abandoned their plans to invade Britain.

Short answer is because of the neimoidian operators.
Longer answer is that we only see the ships that have neimoidians aboard. The landing barges probably don't have any life support since they are monitored from orbit.
Shorter answer is because Lucas, lel

Better question yet : why do the federation's tanks have gunners and pilots? Why not make it all automated/drone?

But even Landing Craft today have the front door, because it is the fastest way to exist. If they went out the sides they'd be chest deep in water and could drown if they fall, plus they are a target for longer as they trey to move up the beach.

Yeah, but as an example, the LAAT gunships have handles on the top, and the lander ship here has a similar purpose.

The way the troopers were standing as the ship rocked looked like they could fall over at any second, and they were jostled around a bit.

Plus with the falcon later on, the droid was getting thrown about.

Just seemed off.

They have TV screens showing images, so they'd have to have cameras too.

Also there are industrial vehicles with steering wheels on both sides. Some fire trucks do now.

Han is seen looking at a panel of camera feeds on his freighter in TFA. If a common type of vessel like that can have them, it makes sense that the First Order would be able to use them as well.

Pretty sure they were shown strapped in to seats or standing harnesses during the actual flight. They were only shown standing when the transport was landing so they could make a quick exit. It's like IRL paratrooper transport planes.

The Advanced x-1 is special, it's effectively "Vader's TIE". Making it a standard model diminishes its distinctiveness.

>>64240937

It's a shame they felt the need to have Padme use a different ship in every movie. While all three are very nice designs, it means the Prequels effectively have no equivalent of the Falcon, no singularly iconic transport for the heroes that's practically a character in its own right (even though, as it happens, you only see Han, Luke & Leia all together on the Falcon once, Han isn't seen on the Falcon again after landing at Cloud City until TFA, and only Lando is actually seen on her in RotJ).

It's possible they were thrown in there somewhere (I've never noticed them, but there were a lot of TIEs seen there, both during the Emperor's arrival and the battle proper, the model could have been dusted off for it without much notice), but Endor is mostly known for being the place where the TIE Interceptor showed up.

AFAIK they use the regular freighters for business with the droids aboard, because they actually don't take up that much space on the freighter.

the one that got blown up was the control ship, which is why all the droids could think for themselves (limited) in E2/3, because they realized how vulnerable that was

if you look at this image, I can't find a better one quickly

it shows all the landing craft are stored dissembled in the back hanger, and the tanks are under the floor, star-fighters are hung from racks in the ceiling like TIEs. leaving you with the whole hanger volume for cargo. Multiply over the whole freighter fleet and you've got a lot of droids.

those were Mon-Calimari designed ships. It seems like you were expecting them to be designed by the same exact humans who designed all the craft used by humans throughout the series. Something only looks like it's "not from star wars" if it's supposed to be from the same faction as tons of more established designs that it looks nothing like.
