>my favourite Hayao Miyazaki (宮崎 駿) movie is not Kiki's Delivery Service (魔女の宅急便).

I can't even comprehend somebody being this much of a pleb

I enjoy it because it reminded me of entering my teenage years. When I turned 14 I had to move to my grandmother for a year where I also had to do a new start in terms of school and especially relationships. I distinctly remember the first time my now husband tried to get to know me just as awkwardly as Tombo did. It's great to look back on my youth in happiness (also I envied her cute ribbon sooo much).

I think Hayao Miyazaki films stand on their own merit but I didn't enjoy Kiki that much. Nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't for me.

Agreed Laputa is one of his top quality works.

All Ghibli films, even the happy ones, have this acute feel of nostalgia to them and that makes me sad for some reason.

Mononoke>spirited away>moving castle>secret world>everything else>shit>ponyo

Spirited Away is still my favourite.

I love the aesthetic of Howl's.

I grew up watching Totoro and Mononoke, both fantastic.

And Kiki's delivery service is a beautiful film.

But Spirited Away is just pure magic.

I always get in a state of melancholy. Thinking about my boring life.

I've had Arrietty's Song on loop, I love the feeling that I'm exploring a massive world. I can picture every motion and filmshot as if I was the one who was being filmed.

I think Totoro, Spirited Away, and The Wind Rises are his best.
>>
I like Castle in the Sky and Howl's Moving Castle. Porco Rosso is good too.

Mononoke is really fucking good as well, but I've seen that one the most, so it's kinda gotten a bit stale.

I was disappointed by the live action. It starred one of my favorite japanese actresses, but it just fell flat.

also, valley of the wind should be #1 on everyone list. if it's not, then it should be princess mononoke. if anything but those two, go fuck yourself.
