So they year is ending, /tv/. What was the best movie you watched this year?
Mad Max Fury Road
>>64223368
SW VII
>>64223368
movies from other years
>>64223441
Yeah, but which ones?
>>64223417
13 year old detected
>>64223368
Empire Strikes Back, preparing for The Force Awakens
Sicario had me on the fucking EDGE OF MY SEAT GOD DAMN and I also loved the music and cinematography.
>>64223368
What movie is this?
>>64223818
Possession (1981)
Fury Road
Whiplash since I had never seen it
>>64223865
>>64223368
possession is not a movie it's cinema
>>64223915
>>64223944
>have friend who won't shut up about this movie
>eventually see it since he keeps asking me to watch it
>it was actually really really fucking good
it was nice going into a movie like that where I just knew from one person it was good but didn't know it had won awards or literally even the premise other than him saying it was about drumming
>>64223965
>>64223865
possession is lame the thing is better
the thing is the best horror film of all time
>monster shows up in front of a group of hardened men
>they figure out an effective way to kill it within seconds of seeing it alive for the first time
>>64223965
I think you mean Cinemarr, much like we don't watch movies, we watch filums.
>>64224001
yeah, i was in the same boat
knew almost nothing about it
went to see it at a local indie type theater
was blown away by how good it was
>>64224022
>comparing two movies that are not similar in any way
>using that hyperbole
>"hardened men"
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2
I stopped seeing the movies after the 5th one and just randomly decided to watch the last 3 this year

Whiplash is just a football movie translated for pseudo-intellectuals by appealing to their fake ass appreciation of jazz. It's genius really.
Remember the Titans is better.
>>64224145
I just liked how well J.K. acted in it and how intense he made so many scenes. It was a good movie.
>>64223443
lol
This movie is pure shit. And I love Gerard and hate DSK (I opened a bottle of champagne the night he get busted and I only drink for birthdays and grandes occasions).
>...Then there's the anti-artistic trickery of Whiplash, in which the director, Damien Chazelle, doesn't bother to see his characters in life because he reads them in his script; seeing the director pick up the pages spewing from the entrails of a laser printer would make for a better film, because it would be more honest about the activity of an artist (of whatever talent).

Agreed, Sicario was my favourite by far.

Mad Max Fury Road
Anomalisa
Memes aside, I'd say Fury Road. I was pumped the moment I saw the trailer and was not disappointed at all. The action was pretty rad and was perfectly intertwined with the story. The characters had clear motivations and their performances were convincing, including the bad guys.
I wish George Miller made TFW instead of JJ.

Probably a tie between Pawn Sacrifice and Mad Max, honestly.
I also enjoyed The Magnificent Seven when my mother sat me down to watch it with her. I rewatched it with her two more times; the last time, she fell asleep.
I feel like a faggot for saying so but I think it's Me & Earl & The Dying Girl.
Bone Tomahawk, Sicario, Legend honorable mention.
