Why can't Hollywood create a female protagonist that isn't a mary sue?
Because no matter what kind of female protagonist they make you will retrofit the label of "mary sue" onto her using whatever mental gymnastics necessary.

hollywood plays it $afe all the time.
star wars has the most potential for a rich, complex story with multi-faceted characters. there are areas of the universe left untouched by the films, such as the grey area between the light and the dark side, the potential for the jedi to be wrong and for those who are dark side to do good. things explored in kotor 2 would be great in a film (even kotor 2 was hindered by $$$)
