Yes. She's pretty inspirational. Kids are able to imagine she had a hard life, enjoy seeing her succeed and make friends, and want to be awesome and good like her. Rey is a simple, pure character, and it was incredibly frustrating to look for toys of her to give and have them be sold out everywhere last week.

Leia was great of course and Padme was... serviceable, I guess, in episodes 1 and 2, but ultimately they were deuterotagonists at best. Rey is the first true female protag in a Star Wars film and just as importantly, the first real female character of any substance (in the movies) to wield a lightsaber.
