Pretty much, in the skydiving episode the instructors prob wanted to either kill Nathan or just laugh at him for being such an annoying pussy but had to keep up the fake smiles for the show.

i doubt the companies actually want help. the producers probably think of an idea, find a willing business, sign the release and promise to cover any losses. that's why the owners dont get worked up too much when nathan fucks it up, but still awkward as fuck in front of the camera.
