You better watch your mouth here alright, Nathan Fielder is the absolute comedic landmark of this century, the current metamodernist powerhouse, the master of californian marketing - and even then, without any sort of exaggeration he has barely peaked at all, so god knows what kind of comical deity will end up being once he retires. What's certain is that he is no way a "discount" Mr. Bean, neither in performance nor looks.

Franco will potentially great films like he ruined Spring Breakers

He can't make you suspend disbelief like someone like Christian Bale does

He just plays himself in a costume

He can be funny, he was in Pineapple Express, but that's because it didn't require him to act well enough to be someone different from himself IRL
>>
>>64194565
The book was perfect, but there's absolutely no way this movie can turn out good.
>>
>>64196655
Ruins potentially great films*
>>
>>64196655
hes a good director, though. Son of God is an 8/10. would be a 9/10 if he didnt have a speaking cameo
>>
>>64196655
everyone knows its just gonna be him with a phony accent and play Tommy Wiseau with stereotypical quirks.

If they do the Spy-kids scene I am 100% this will happen.

>Greg sees red bulls scattered everywhere and realizes Tommy has been marathoning Spykids movies late at night
>Greg watches it whilst Tommy is in the shower
>Tommy at some point finds himself sitting on the stairs watching the movie in silence which Greg hasn't realized
>Greg finally looks back and sees Tommy sitting there and it's just straight up awkward for Greg in his head but not for Tommy.
>They don't say anything of importance and get to work
>End, next page.

>Movie
>Franco does some stupid grin, looks at Greg
>"HUH... U LIKE?!"
>DUDE REDBULLS
>>
>>64195595
The Room was played on Adult Swim two different times for April Fools. This is where it first got popular. Normies know about it.
>>
>>64196930
>normies watch adult swim

Yes, because I've seen so many people talk about Sealab 2021.
>>
>>64196846

Yes. Even if its not a fantastic movie it will be very entertaining and "fun"
>>
>>64198060
yeah, because normies don't watch rick and morty
>>
>>64195595
A nearby theater used to play this once or twice a month
>>
>>64194565

The book is funny as fuck. There's a part where Tommy and Greg are cruising Sunset Boulevard for chicks, and Greg is so embarrassed that he's constantly looking out of the passenger side window so the girls Tommy's awkwardly hitting on can't see his face.
>>
>>64199368
You know they can watch that on Hulu, right?
>>
>>64196846

>Tommy and Greg go to see "The Talented Mr. Ripley"
>Tommy is openly sobbing at the end
>Tommy says "I'm going to name your character Mark, after this star Mark Damon."
>>
>>64196846
You mean spy games?

>>64198202
>>64198678
I think he's talking about a scene early in the book where Greg is waiting for Tommy to get ready to drive to the set. Spy Games is on the TV and Tommy is so late Greg end up watching all of it. Then it turns out Tommy was watching it for ages without Greg realising.

I think it gets a callback later in the book when Tommy is telling Greg to freak out during his scene and throw a chair, which I think happens in Spy Games.

also tim and eric is sort of big and is on adult swim
>>

Tim and Eric is not big. Maybe with college freshmen, but no one above the age of 21.
>>

It gets worse, he used 2 cameras next to each other while filming, one Film, one digital HD.
>>
>>64194565
> Josh Hutcherson
Lel. Thought he was never gonna act again after the Hungry Games.
>>
>Shot simultaneously on 35 mm film and high-definition video. Tommy Wiseau was confused about the differences between the formats, so he used both cameras on the same mount. He also purchased the cameras, instead of renting them as film productions usually do.

What a story, Mark!
>>

>because I've seen so many people talk about Sealab 2021.
Then maybe you should get more friends or stop being a young retard because everyone I know knows Sealab 2021.
>>
>>64199789

And on top of that, he actually bought the damn cameras instead of renting them like pretty much every other studio does.

I don't think it will be good. I don't see the purpose of trying to re-create a book, like are they just going to have this bunch of fairly un-funny actors re-enact scenes? The humor came from how surreal and absurd everything was, and trying to turn it into a traditional comedy will just strip it down to "DUDE A WEIRD GUY SAYING WEIRD THINGS LMAO". I don't expect it will be very successful.

Also, Greg Sestero is an asshole for writing the book in the first place.

I'm gonna be optimistic. Kind of like Tim Burton's Ed Wood. Not as good as that one, clearly, but still has potential.

And Greg Sestero isn't an asshole for writing the book. If anything, it takes the pressure off of everyone involved during the various Q&As. I used to go to the Laemmle Sunset once a month before they shut down, and Greg Sestero would get asked the same damn questions every time.
