Will Cuckflix ever create a truly groundbreaking series like this? Or are we doomed to 8 more seasons of House of Cards?
>>64193665
Hold on OP let me look into my crystal ball.
>Ask again later
Welp
It never will, both its "original" material and acquired properties are all absolute shit.
>>64193736
How so?
>>64193703
I cringed when I read this
Don't ever try to be funny again
>>64193781
The films it acquires are all lowest common denominator trash acquired only on a popularity rather than quality basis. The only exception is when they acquire a metric ton of fims due to some major deal with a distributor or studio. The only thing they care about regarding their selection is what generates the most viewers and, most importantly, the most mentions on social media. Just look at DUDE NETFLIX AND CHILL (shill) LMAO
This same logic applies to their shows. They don't actually make the shows by the way, these shows already exist at nd Netflix only acquires exclusive distribution rights by funding them during production a la 1950s style television production.
It also is another contributing factor as to why they'll never be able to compare to HBO when it was in its prime.
>>64193665
Sopranos and Breaking Bad are epitome of television. You can't come close to either series.
With that being said, there are some fun shows to watch on Netflix even if they aren't nearly as good. Lillyhammer is pretty funny, and I like Peaky Blinders for what it is
>>64194125
Interesting...
>>64194162
>Breaking Bad
Here's your reply.
>>64194218
>stop liking what I don't like
Well you sure convinced me!
There will never be a show like The Sopranos.
>>64194162
why would anyone even put the two in the same sentence
>>64194125
>They don't actually make the shows by the way, these shows already exist at nd Netflix only acquires exclusive distribution rights by funding them during production a la 1950s style television production.

Can you elaborate on this? What is the difference between this and what HBO does?
>>64193703
redditors are out in force today
>>64194218
being this fucking autistic. You can't deny the acting, direction, editing, and writing that made this show a 10/10.
>hurrrr durrrr it became popular so I think it's shit
fucking kill yourself
>>64194366
its a meme show
Well put together, entertaining.
But it has no depth compared to the sopranos.
>>64194423
> a meme show
yeah, fuck you
>>64194366
It was always shit, it just got hyped up because it was popular; and you obviously haven't seen the show Deadwood which is a peg above even sopronoes
>>64193665
If Sopranos cut out any scene with AJ, some scenes with Meadow, Liv, and Janice, it would be a 10/10 show. Unfortunately, the fucked up pacing puts it behind Breaking Bad, and I want to like it more
>>64194366
>acting
Mediocre, one-note, awkward, amateur
>direction, editing
DUDE CRAZY CAMERA ANGLES AND FILTERS LMAO
>writing
Wow Mr. Chips has become a wannabe Scarface, truly amazing.
>you only hate it because it's popular
The classic redditor argument.
>>64194526
Kill yourself, I bet you think Silvio is a good character. Just watch Goofellas, it's for autistic manchildren such as yourself,
>>64194366
Where do you think you are? Can't dissent against popular unpopular opinion. It's like going to /pol/ and saying you don't believe zionists run the world
>>64193665
Has Netflix made anything good? Think about that
Did you cried when Bobby was kill??
>>64193703
>welp

fuck off
>>64193665
>pisspoor direction (i.e. Steve Buscemi murdering Joey Peeps, wtf was that scene)
>terrible character development besides Tony
>inconsistency (Vito's brother in the mall after his coma, Vito himself after Season 1 in the bakery scene with Chris)
>unlikeable, whiny, retarded characters (pretty much everyone except Sil, Patsy, and Bobby's dad)
>terrible writing
>fucking shitty ass ending that tried too hard to be edgy and different but failed
I give this show a solid 6/10
>>64194911
this is the only way you can get someone to talk about anything remotely popular. Just b8 all over it
>>64194911
>>pisspoor direction (i.e. Steve Buscemi murdering Joey Peeps, wtf was that scene)
It was literally 2 seconds scene in an episode that dealt almost entirely with the aftermath of the act
>>inconsistency (Vito's brother in the mall after his coma, Vito himself after Season 1 in the bakery scene with Chris)
A lot of shows do it, don't pick nits
>>unlikeable, whiny, retarded characters (pretty much everyone except Sil, Patsy, and Bobby's dad)
None of the characters are particularly whiney; Tony's going to a shrink but he's got real issues. Maybe Anthony Jr. is whiney but that's part of his characterization.
>>terrible writing
Objectively wrong.
>>64195054
why are you even acknowledging him? Why is Vito's brother an inconsistency?
>>64194911
Yeah seriously. The first season was the best and then it went downhill. Too much of a family drama which was bullshit. I fucking hated the whole gay Vito saga
>>64195054
he's kinda right though
>>64194911
this
>>64195418
>literally every "complaint" is an opinion
he's not right. You don't just get to say the writing was terrible, without any examples at all and then act like you've said anything meaningful. The character development and writing was top notch, it drove the entire show.
>>64194466
BB is a cliffhanger tension show. Watch it once and you're good.
The Sopranos had tense moments but it was such a rich, poignant and human show at the same time. It warrants and rewards multiple views. There's never been a show that's come close to it nor is there likely to be soon.
>>64194911
top kek
>gr8 b8 m8 I r8 8/8

I'm glad you did. Breaking Bad is pleb compared to deadwood, the wire or even Oz

An hero, now
>>64195745
>There's never been a show that's come close to it nor is there likely to be soon.
The first 3 seasons of House of Cards are as good as the first 3 of The Sopranos. In terms of writing, acting, and characters I mean. Not sure if it will be able to maintain the quality for as long as The Sopranos did though.
>>64195867
>Oz
Look, it was groundbreaking when it came out, but have you watched it recently?
All that preachy, PSA-centered shit is really hard to watch now
>>64193665
No most of the things they made are trash with maybe a few just good shows as exceptions.
And since they don't really have a business plan and they keep on not making any profit, I think in few more years they'll just close down.
>>64196106
>first 3 seasons of HoC are as good as the first 3 of Sopranos
entirely wrong from top to bottom, HoC went to shit in season 3 and Sopranos season 3 was better than the previous two.
>>64196106
Season 3 of House of Cards was garbage.
They threw the characterizations out the window, the plot was dumbed down. It was pleb-tier trash
>muh gays
>muh marriage
>>64196163
Season 2 of HoC is better than any season of Sopranos
>>64193665
The Sopranos and The Wire are literal high points of television, nothing comes close.
Breaking Bad was good but it was so overrated it's not even funny.
In short, no.
>>64196212
It's turning into the slightly-less-family-friendly version of The West Wing.
>>64194366
BrBa is a superficial 7/10 at best, especially according to the elements you mentioned. e.g., the acting was amateur outside Cranston and 1-2 others.
>>64194335
Most of HBO's shows are great. Netflix has a ton of bad shows and maybe two passable shows.
>>64194478
>Deadwood which is a peg above even sopronoes
heh, no. But Deadwood is a solid top 2 or top 5 of all time.
>>64196212
Season 2 wasn't even the best season of HoC. Literally every season of Sopranos is better than anything put out for HoC.
>>64195867
Oz has really aged poorly. There's some poignancy to be mined but there's a fair amount of shit and early HBO "look how shocking we're allowed to be" edge.
>>64196399
>Most of HBO's shows are great
I don't think you're aware of HBO's programming throughout the last decade to make such a claim
>>64194335
netflix are just the atm handing out money in exchange for a show, HBO has creative talent get involved and actually do work
>>64196783
they're not in their prime of Wire, Deadwood, Sopranos etc but they're still number 1
>>64196877
Mostly budget wise. AMC has been catching up, FX too. Hell, even Starz has gotten much better.
>>64196783
>I don't think you're aware of HBO's programming throughout the last decade to make such a claim
So much this.
Some of it has been absolute garbage (GoT season 5, True Detective season 2, some of the "comedy" etc etc)
>>64196106
>The first 3 seasons of House of Cards are as good as the first 3 of The Sopranos.
"no"
>>64197078
>True Detective season 2
>absolute garbage
>>64197052
AMC has 1 good show and 1 popular show airing right now and that is it. they're nowhere near HBO. I agree with FX though.
>>64197184
Which one is good, and which one is popular?
Don't say Walking Dead is the good one
>>64197263
better call saul is good. walking dead is popular.
>>64197263
Walking Dead and Walking Dead accessories brings in the revenue, Better Call Saul is there because they have nothing with Mad Men finished.
>>64194423

Kek. When will this "greatest show of all time" meme end?
>>64193703
