No. The one on the left is an excellent comedy/drama that keeps the viewer engaged for all of its running time.
The one on the right is puerile, reprehensible shite that should be avoided like the fucking plague. I'm glad Chris Farley died and I wish David Spade had, also.

I agree it is superior but its two different types of humor. John Candy was just a straight badass while Chris Farley threw his energy.

Steve Martin's mean-spirited asshole character is unlikeable compared to Spade, who's more of a funny beta asshole, and the dramatic subplot of PTA seems tacked on.
