Let me tell you why I fucking had the worst time at this movie.
>Younger Brother is a film studies major
>Hangs around with a bunch of film student hipsters
>They all want to go see Hateful Eight in 70mm
>Nearest Theater that has it is 2 hours away (They refuse to go see it unless it in 70mm)
>They decide to go see it together at 11:00 am, the earliest showing
>Brother doesn't have a license so I have to drive him
>Parents want me to hang out with brother so I decide to go to the movie too (I really don't care either way)
>Have to leave the house around 7 (I live in Minnesota and the roads are all icy as fuck so it takes longer than it shouls)
>Get to theater around 10 to meet up with his buddies
>Takes over a fucking half hour to get through line, get tickets and thise fucking booklets they need, get snacks, and get seated
>Theater full of nothing but hipsters, a sea of unnatural hair colors and big rimmed glasses
>Movie starts
>Just a title card labelled "Overture"
>Theater applauds
>Movie really starts
>Theater applauds when the words "Filmed in 70mm panoramic" appear
>Laughs everytime The N Word is said
>Laughs everytime someone gets shot or blows up
>Literally cheer and scream in joy when Samuel L Jackson makes that dude blow him. Someone in the audience shouted "Suck it you racist fuck!"
>Applauds when the intermission screen appears
>Does a standing ovation when credits roll
>>64164134
Sounds like a good time you dip
>>64164134
that's what you get for being a cuck, you dumb nigger. should have told your brother to fuck off and find someone else who wants to see that turd to drive him.
>>64164134
>i didnt like it because cinephiles liked it
ok
that is pretty obnoxious, though. my theater was laughing during the BIG, WARM, DINGUS scene, which was kinda funny but also pretty horrifying. The only time someone says "nigger" in the movie and its funny is when it's the first thing daisy says
was this good?
going to see it tonight.
>>64164134
>things that never happened
>>64164286
it's kind of divisively the most tarantino movie he's done in a long time. i'd personally give it an 8/10 but that's because i like what he does. it's a whodunnit that turns into a goddamn carnival of blood in the last 45 minutes
it also has a really fucking great soundtrack
>>64164299
pretty much
>>64164134
This is reddit, this is memes
That's nice to hear but nothing to do with the movie
I did notice everyone laughing at every instance of the n word and every abuse to the prisoner
> "we need to develop signal communications, when I elbow you in the face, shut up" that line was a kinda cringey for Tarantino
>>64164286
Yes it's def a movie you need to see although I thought the start was a bit too clunky, it quickly develops though
>>64164256
The BIG, BLACK, DINGUS scene made me really uncomfortable tbqh
>>64164646
It was supposed to
>>64164286
weaker than django and basterds, perhaps his weakest film ever made, but still mega-entertaining when compared to the bunch of overhyped lame-ass shit I've seen this year
>>64164134
>younger brother is a film studies major
>Brother doesn't have a license so I have to drive him
stop babying him you faggots
>>64164134
>"Suck it you racist fuck!"
this is my new favourite /tv/ catch phrase, holy shit.
>>64164832
if it's weaker than Django then it must be his weakest film ever made by default
>>64165051
It's not.
I counted 8 cases of people clapping in my theatre.
One being at 'overture' one at 'The 8th Film by Quentin Tarantino' one at 'Samuel L Jackson'
As for the movie itself, I thought the first 1/3 or so was promising but didn't care much for the rest. The gore was fun in a real schlocky way but it's nothing I have any real desire to revisit. It really threw its own premise out the door.
>>64164832
>weaker than django and basterds
And I thought he couldn't make something worse than these shits.
>>64164134
I don't believe you.
>>64166605death proof
>>64164286
I think it's his fourth best film.
After Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill Vol 1.
>Just a title card labelled "Overture"
>Theater applauds
>Movie really starts
>Theater applauds when the words "Filmed in 70mm panoramic" appear
>Laughs everytime The N Word is said
>Laughs everytime someone gets shot or blows up
>Literally cheer and scream in joy when Samuel L Jackson makes that dude blow him
>Applauds when the intermission screen appears
Literally all of this happened to me too. People cheered at every snarky-jive-black-guy thing Samuel L Jackson said and clapped every time the illusion of the film was broken for a second (credits/intermissions/transitions whatever)
>>64164954
Fucking this, dingusposting is the future
>>64164134
Always see Tarantino movies in black theaters, they tend to laugh at the parts that are supposed to be funny (i.e. Sam Jackson screaming when Candy got shot in Django). Me and my friend were the only white people in the theater the first time we saw it and it made for a more pleasant experience than the second time I saw it.
>>64164134
>The N Word is said
Just say nigger, you white guilt pussy
Biggest problem for me is it was marketed as something it's not.
It is not a 'eight unique characters trapped in a room together with noone to trust' kind of movie where different ideals and different motives lead them to start double crossing eachother. The trailer very much made it seem like it would be a battle for the bounty money on Daisy's head.
It's was more like a drawn out whodunnit with three characters investigating andeveryone else having 'dun it'.
>>64164134
>Someone in the audience shouted "Suck it you racist fuck!"
>>64166605
Django was pretty shit but Basterds was fucking great
>>64164134
That's the most american thing I've seen since last week's shooting.
>>64164134
Besides the shitty traffic/travel, that sounds like a pretty good time tbqh senpai. Stop being so fucking dramatic
>>64164286
Yes
It started out really strong and tense, but it built up to hardly anything. I was waiting for the shit to hit the fan after the intermission but it was so understated and dull.
>>64167784
Suck it you racist fuck!
>>64167934
Still trying to force your made-up bullshit?
>>64167991
I'm genuinely surprised you can type while you suck on that Big Black Dingus
>>64168139
That has nothing to do with my original comment so I think you must be high or drunk.
>>64168183
Suck it you racist fuck!
>>64164286
>paying to go see anti-white propaganda
JUST don't complain when Hollywood continues to pump out anti-white flicks Jamal.
>>64167184
Wow, that's right. I had forgotten that
>>64164134
This is why I couldn't live in America, I'm so glad we don't get cunts like this over here
>>64164134
>Younger Brother is a film studies major
Oh lord this is going to be good
They really wasted Kirk Russel.
Thought he would be the lone survivor like in The Thing.
>>64164134
>Samuel L Jackson makes that dude blow him
wut
>>64164134
so the fans, not the movie?
I can agree with that.
Good ass movie tho, and i'm positive that Tarantino isn't a cuck for the blowjob scene.
>>64169026
it's B8 you dumb fuck
>>64164134
I got so fucking bored of this movie. Just gave up halfway through. Sorry you had to have such a shitty time but that's what you get for being a faggot who still lives with his parents.
>>64164134
>brother is a films studies major
>brother doesn't have a license
>none of brother's friends have licenses
>they are all college-aged adults
nope.
>none of them have a driver's license
>>64164134
Excuse me, but how exactly does this movie allegedly challenge white supremacy?
Just because a white guy sucked off a black guy, means white supremacy is being faced?
Interracial gay porn does it all the time. What exactly is Tarantino trying to tell us
>>64164221
Shut up and suck that black cock.
>>64170384
That black rights came at the cost of women's rights.
>>64170251
>being an impatient retard who has the attention span of a squirrel, no sense of detail or appreciation for dialogue, and cant sit through a movie over 2 hours in length.
Fucking normalfags, there wasn't a boring part in this film. Even when the dialogue was long between characters, knowing Tarantino, you should assume some crazy shit is about to go down, so you anticipate it.
I fucking hated the movie t b h
Had no charm, too much Eli Roth influence.
>>64170432
yeah i just turned it off, watched Creed and Sicario and had a much more enjoyable night as soon as I switched movies.
Tarantino movies are so fucking boring 9/10 times. I think the only ones I've fully made it through were Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill was alright too. Somehow most of his films manage to be boring even when it's all about racism and bloodshed and murder and all this shit. The man himself is incredibly annoying (throwing a massive publicity hissy fit because star wars knocked muh 70mm movie out of the theater) and his fans are overzealous and annoying too going on about how 'important' his films are.
>>64164134
I don't get why Tarantino made the film in 70mm when most of the movie is made in a cabin with close and small shots. Did he tried to imitate what Paul did with the Master?
also the movie went to hell at least for me whenkurt russell dies
How are they going to do the general release? Will it not be 70mm? There were so many shots with two speaking characters at the extreme ends of the screen I don't see how another format is possible.
>>64170665
>sicario was enjoyable
Retard detected.
Sorry, but this is the worst QT movie by a far cry. It was genuinely boring. Too long. This movie could have been cut down to 90 minutes, and played out fine. But, at 45-50 minutes into the film, we were still in the carriage, hearing way too much backstory on a bunch of people who QT is going to kill.
I'm not too sharp at spotting plot holes, but, something about this setup didn't seem, right. Did the gang know there was going to be a blizzard (no), and that the carriage would stop at Minnie's? If they didn't know about the storm, they would have planned on just meeting Ruth and his prisoner. So, why did Tim Roth get into the role of the hangman, complete with papers from the murdered sherrif of red rock? Or, did they somehow know the new sherrif was coming in, too? How?
Ultimatly, what was missing were those tight QT scenes, that he's usually so good at: e.g. the tipping debate with mr pink, the interrogation of Brett, the adrenaline shot, the crazy 88, at Bill's house, the opening of IB, the scene in the basement, the dinner party with Leo Dewcapro - scenes that build tension, grip you with dialogue. There's none of those. The confrontation between Jackson and Bruce Dern is suppose to be one, but it isn't. It won't go on any top 10 list.
I actually liked the score - quite a bit, actually. I felt a scored movie was a nice, grown up move for QT. And, the opening credits with accompaniment was very nice. But, so much of the fun in QT's movies has been his cutting to pop music. And, by the end, it feels missing.
Bad movie. Disappointment.
-- Now, I'll go read all your comments, and see who's agreed with me :)

at least sicario had things happening

you have to pay me to get me to watch this tier
BORING shit
the best thing was the soundtrack, I could actually listen to the soundtrack alone just for the enjoyment of it. the film is just a crock of shit and an excuse for tarantino and his film major worshippers to drone on about 70mm.
I don't get it, why does sucking an african-american penis make you racist?
>>64171114
NOT sucking an african-american's cock makes you racist IF you are WHITE
>>64168707
Why would a black be put off by anti-white shit? You should really be more cohesive in your mindless shitposts.
>>64171008
One of the reasons the dialogue is so insufferable is because it's TearUnoFarto's hyperspeed cocaine yammering, but slowed down for normal actors to speak as they attempt to apply their craft to this bullshit, all asides and minute observations retained.
>>64164134
I'm sorry that you had such a bad time, friend. I hope your brother appreciates what you went through for him.

they aren't always neon-haired lookitme types either, they are among the normalfags

I'd say Inglourious Basterds was his weakest. Except for every tense scene with Christoph Waltz that movie was kinda shit.
ITT: I Wuz Triggered!
Good troll.
>>64170111
yeah that was my biggest complaint with the movie, all he did was a bad John Wayne impression and then died like a bitch
>>64171008
The Revenant could've been cut to 90 minutes. This movie is actually pretty engaging the whole 2 hours 40 minutes.
>>64173115
It's a subversion. The same thing happened in Django. The closest person to the protagonist died in the climax.
>>64172902
Suck it you racist fuck!
>>64171218
It's not about blacks feelings here, it's about the whole industry cuckyng a certain race and everyone applauding.
