The movie was almost 2 hours long. It didn't need more time. It needed more effective use of the time it had instead of rushing from one mediocre action sequence to the next.
By the end of the movie I was actually somewhat bored. I was tired of seeing Rey just fix things with little consequence.

People thought Ep.1 was great when it came out too.
The newness of it all mesmerized the mindless consumer sheep, but in a week or two once the newness wears off, you'll come back down to earth and start realizing that it's shit, and realizing that the people who think it's shit just aren't being contrarians but actually have legit points.

Good thing C-3PO got picked up by the same jawas that grabbed R2-D2 after they walked off in literally opposite directions on a desert planet. Good thing the stormtroopers decided to confront Owen and Beru just when Luke was with C-3PO looking for R2. Good thing the Falcon didn't arrive on Alderaan a couple hours earlier or a day later. Good thing Obi-Wan didn't run into any security cameras on the Death Star while we know the other group did. I saw it yesterday and I've already forgotten most of it. Granted, I had a shit sit so I couldn't see anything because it was 3d and need to see it again to give it a fair shake, but the story and character progressions felt really weak
